Food Service
Franklin Township menus are written based on the Nutrient Standard method of menu development.
- Breakfast at all grade levels must provide at least 25% of the Recommended Daily Allowance for protein, calcium, iron, and vitamins A and C when averaged over each school week.
- Lunch at all grade levels must provide at least 33% of the Recommended Daily Allowance for protein, calcium, iron and vitamins A and C when averaged over each school week.
- Not more than 30% of total calories from fat when averaged over each school week.
- Not more than 10% of total calories from sturated fat when averaged over each school week
Only nonfat and lowfat milks are offered daily at ALL Franklin Township schools.
Fresh fruits and/or vegetables are offered daily at ALL Franklin Township schools.

Meal prices are established to cover the following costs:
- Food
- Labor and Benefits
- Repairs and Replacement of Equipment
- Supplies
- Training
Food service receives federal and state financial assistance for student meals only; no reimbursement is received for adult meals. Therefore, adult meal prices are required to cover the entire expense of a meal. Adults are served the same portion size as a student and are rung at a la carte pricing.
